The Ikeja District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria was launched on Thursday 12th day of August 1982. The launch took place at the main hall of the Lagos Country Club, Airport Road ( Now Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way) Ikeja, Lagos through the support of the then President of Lagos Country Club Mr. Bayo Delamo and the Secretary, Chief A. A Jimoh. It attracted the movers and shakers of the Nigerian Economy.

Mr. P.G Dudeny O.B.E chaired the occasion and the Guest Speaker was Dr. A.K Ubeku then Managing Director (Designate), Guiness Nigeria Plc and Pro-Chancellor,
